Snow Goose Chalet

Accommodation

Our aim is to provide a place that you will want to come home to; comfortable and warm, with good food and homely atmosphere.

Down-Time

No matter how enticing the ski slopes or hiking trails, you need to sit back at the end of the day and relax. The living room at Snow Goose Chalet is cosy and snug, with comfy chairs and a glowing wood-fire to cocoon your weary bones. When it's too much effort to venture outside for your night's entertainment, tuck up in front of a DVD from our plentiful collection or have some fun with one of the many board games provided for your humiliation. Your chalet hosts can shop for your favourite tipple so that it's on hand and you don't get homesick. Of course, if you're feeling refreshed after a hot shower and a home-cooked meal, then transport to the local town of Samokov or up to Borovets can be arranged. On those days that your legs fancy a break, take advantage of the sun-trapping terrace and let the warmth regenerate those muscles.

Bed-Time

The chalet bedrooms are arranged over two floors. On the second floor there are four rooms (two double, two twin) with en suite wet-room facilities. Three rooms have access to balconies giving a fabulous outlook on the surrounding countryside and up to the locally renowned Eagles Rocks mountains, a spectacular visual treat.

The third floor can accommodate eight people. A small double room is accessed from the main bedroom, where there are twin beds that can be tucked together if required.

Another small sleeping area with a single bed is part of the main bedroom area, but located in an L-shaped recess for a certain amount of privacy. The shared bathroom on this floor has both a bath and an integrated shower. The two bedrooms on this floor have separate balconies. Ever mindful of your comforts, we'll provide you with good-sized bath sheets, and ample duvets to ensure that all-important deep and dreamless sleep.

Food-Time

Breakfast includes cereals, toast and conserves and a varied menu of hot fare to set you up for the day. Afternoon tea, to keep you going until dinner, will be available at the end of the day's adventures, along with freshly-brewed tea and coffee. A three course evening meal will be served up six evenings a week and vegetarian options are gladly provided when notified in advance. We specialise in hearty, home-cooked food so you won't be going hungry.

In fact the only time you'll need to track down your own sustenance (except for those lunchtime goodies on the slopes) will be one evening a week when your chalet hosts get a well-earned break. But before they disappear, a taxi can be arranged to take you to your chosen dinner venue. Table reservations can also be made for you. Why not check out the traditional Bulgarian 'mexana' in the local town? It's a great place with a huge selection of local dishes in an old-style setting, definitely worth a visit.

Logistics

Your chalet board package includes daily transport to and from the ski slopes at Borovets. Timings can be arranged to suit your requirements; we'll line up your lift-passes and, if required, we can pre-arrange ski and boot hire and ski lessons too. There is a spacious, heated ski and boot room in the chalet basement for storage of your ski equipment, so no chilly toes when you squeeze into your boots each morning.

Your chalet hosts can arrange day-trips to local towns for shopping and sight-seeing if you would like to see more of Bulgaria, or fancy a day away from the slopes. The capital town of Sofia is an interesting venue for shopping and exploring, and the old town of Plovdiv, a two hour drive through lovely scenery, is a delight. Have a chat with your hosts to arrange an itinerary to suit you or to arrange a variety of additional services. Additional trips and services are payable locally.

Snow Goose Chalet is non-smoking. 5 out of 6 bedrooms have balconies to indulge those cravings if you require.

Your Safety

Children are particularly welcome at Snow Goose Chalet. Balconies and terraces have sturdy wooden balustrades at 105cm height for your safety. However, please ensure that inquisitive children are supervised at all times. We also suggest that the layout of the chalet isn't suitable for children under five years old.
